Dr. Kenneth Nguyen, Pharm.D., L.Ac.
I have over 12 years experience in medicine, and I am trained in both Eastern and Western medical practices. I am a strong advocate for integrative medicine - the combined use of both modern medical therapies and alternative therapies like acupuncture, herbal medicine, and other natural approaches.
Education
After receiving my bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from the University of California at Berkeley, I completed 4 years of graduate study at the University of California, San Francisco, where I earned my doctorate in Pharmacy.
I studied Chinese medicine, including acupuncture and herbal medicine, at the Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Sciences. I now practice Chinese herbal medicine as a California licensed acupuncturist.
Medical Experience
I have a wide variety of medical experience in pharmacy and Chinese medicine, including work at UCSF medical center, Kaiser hospitals in Oakland and Fairfield, and Contra Costa Medical Center.
Areas of Specialization
As a doctor of pharmacy, I know both the benefits and the risks of modern drug therapy. I enjoy the chance to work with patients who are looking for safer, natural alternatives to drug therapy. I have a special interest in working with patients who want to reduce their dependence on pharmaceuticals, and who want natural solutions for chronic pain, hypertension, digestive problems, and many other chronic conditions.
I have had much success treating people with chronic disease with Chinese herbal medicine. I have helped many patients avoid surgery. I'd like to be able to help you, too.
