Chiropractic

Like you, I was once in pain, looking to a chiropractor for relief.

After an auto accident many years ago, I was unable to move my neck and upper back and all I was given were pain pills. That's how my road to becoming a doctor of chiropractic began.

Receiving chiropractic treatment helped me recover from my painful injuries, and it opened my eyes to the world of holistic medicine. Through my own process of recovery, I got my first glimpse into the amazing power of the human body.

I began to understand that the doctor may play an important part, but it is the patient's own body that has the central role in healing. This insight marked a new beginning in my understanding of health and medicine.

My philosophy
I want you to move better, without pain. That's it. Everything that I do in my clinic - every exam, evaluation, adjustment, therapy... everything I do is aimed at helping you move without pain, helping you to enjoy your body again.

In technical terms, I evaluate and manage biomechanical conditions to reduce pain and improve the structure and function of the human body. In practice, this means I want to help you dance, play, work, and get out of bed without pain. More importantly, once the pain subsides, I want to help increase your functionality. I want you to feel healthy in everything you do, from playing tennis to brushing your teeth. When your body is in alignment, your movements will be strong, smooth, and pain-free.

My story
I took a long road before I discovered Chiropractic, and I bring this variety of life experiences to my medical practice.

My background includes work in Hollywood as a cinematographer and production assistant. I've also worked as an Emergency Medical Technician in an emergency room, and I've had a long list of less glamorous jobs that I worked to put myself through school. I value these experiences, because they help me understand the real-life pressures that my patients face as they try to recover from injury or illness.

Before earning my doctorate at Western States Chiropractic College, I earned a degree in biology from the University of California at Irvine, and another degree in anthropology. My interests have always been varied and broad. At East Bay Pain Care, I continue to explore different ways of healing as I work alongside acupuncturists, herbalists, and massage therapists.

Every day, I continue to work at improving myself as a doctor so that I can better serve my patients. I take very seriously my responsibility for the well being of my patients, and I truly enjoy what I do. The more lives I touch as a doctor, the more meaningful and enjoyable my life becomes.
