Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine

Rhoda Climenhaga, L.Ac., uses acupuncture, herbal medicine, and nutrition therapy to help bring your body into balance. She is on the faculty at the Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Sciences.

Lorenzo Puertas, L.Ac., Q.M.E. specializes in the treatment of pain with acupuncture, particularly chronic pain of several years duration. He is an instructor in the fields of acupuncture and holistic health, and has held a variety of leadership and teaching positions.

Maria Yung, L.Ac., Q.M.E. is a third-generation practitioner of traditional Chinese medicine, following a tradition started over 70 years ago by her grandmother. Like her grandmother, Dr. Bing Yin Lee, Maria specializes in women's health, particularly in the treatment of chronic menstrual problems.

Bing Yin Lee, L.Ac., O.M.D. has practiced Chinese medicine for over 70 years. Dr. Lee is a legend in Bay Area Chinese communities, beloved for her gentle touch, kind heart, and effective results with Chinese herbal medicine. She sees a very limited number of patients with the help of an assistant and translator.

Chiropractic

Mark Shapiro, D.C. practices a comprehensive, holistic style of chiropractic treatment that includes home exercise, lifestyle changes, pain relief strategies, and guided rehabilitation.

Errol Medel, D.C. uses gentle chiropractic techniques to reduce pain and improve the structure and function of the human body. He is experienced in natural approaches to injury rehabilitation.

Exercise Therapy

Krista Bray helps patients take charge of their health through personalized programs of exercise and stretching. Together with simple techniques for how to sit, stand, bend, lift, and lie down in comfort, these approaches help restore your body to proper alignment and alleviate pain. She has trained and worked as an Exercise Therapist at Egoscue Clinics in San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, and Denver.

Massage

Anthony Pape, CMT studied at the Mueller College of Holistic Studies in San Diego, California. He is a very experienced massage therapist with training in Swedish massage, Korean Hand Therapy, Acupressure, and Tui-Na. In his treatments he also incorporates shiatsu and acupressure techniques. Anthony is currently a student of traditional Chinese medicine, and brings this training into his practice of massage.

Andrea Bryck, CMT specializes in a combination of Swedish, Shiatsu, Reiki, Deep Tissue, Muscle Energy & Neuromuscular Techniques. She has many years experience in bodywork, and her style emphasizes an integrated belnd of techniques to customize sessions to meet each patient's needs.

Yoga

Ken Brenniman is a Registered Yoga Teacher, having completed a 200 hour training program that is recognized by the national Yoga Alliance. Ken's yoga classes at East Bay Pain Care are designed for beginners, particularly those who are interested in yoga as a healing therapy. These classes are very small (no more than 7 people), allowing the instructor to provide individual feedback to each student.
