East Bay Pain Care is a woman-owned clinic, and a large part of our practice is devoted to treating women's health problems, particularly painful conditions like endometriosis, period pain, PMS, uterine fibroids, and pelvic pain.
Using natural treatments like acupuncture and herbal medicine, we have helped many women free themselves of chronic pain and discomfort.
Can I try acupuncture or herbal medicine if I'm taking other medicines?
Yes. In most cases, there is no conflict between our gentle therapies and modern treatments like drugs and surgery. However, make sure to keep all of your healthcare providers informed so that they can work together to help you heal.
What is a treatment like?
For you first visit, you will spent about 1 hour with one of our doctors, during which we'll have a detailed conversation about your health. Since we practice holistic medicine, we'll talk not only about your major symptoms but also about your emotions, your lifestyle, your diet, your social life and your general health history. It's important for us to get a complete picture to determine the best treatment to restore you to good health. Of course, our doctors will also take time to explain your condition, and their recommended course of treatment.
This is also an opportunity for us to get familiar with each other and plan our treatment strategy together. We'll finish with an acupuncture treatment to get you on your way to better health. You may also be prescribed herbs to complement your acupuncture treatment.
Your follow-up visits will be shorter, though we'll still want to know about changes in your health before performing the acupuncture treatment.
