Many of us suffer from headaches from time to time. But if your headaches are part of your daily life, or if your headaches are so painful they are debilitating, we'd like to help you. With acupuncture, chiropractic, and herbal medicine, we've had great success helping our patients with chronic headaches.
Headaches can have many different causes, and can be a sign of more serious underlying conditions. The condition commonly called a "migraine" is much more severe than a simple headache. Migraine headaches can range from mild to severe, are usually felt on only one side of the head. In addition to head pain, a migraine attack can involve symptoms like nausea, fatigue, visual disturbances, and sensitivity to light. Migraine pain is debilitating and can last from a few hours to 3 days or more.
If you suffer from migraines, you're not alone about 28 million Americans suffer from migraine headaches. Migraine headaches can occur at any age, but they are most common among people between 20 and 40 years of age.
Common symptoms of migraine include:
- Moderate to severe throbbing pain
- Pain on only one side of the head
- Nausea and vomiting
- Sensitivity to light, noise, or smell.
- Visual disturbances, called an aura.
- A pattern of headaches (once a week, once a month, etc)
